Yom Yerushalayim or Jerusalem Day, is an Israeli national holiday commemorating the reunification of Jerusalem in the aftermath of the 1967 Six-Day War.

Song written and Composed by renowned artist Cecelia Margules, “Oh Jerusalem” is a poignant video tribute to the longing and realization of the Jewish return. Performed by Gad Elbaz, of worldwide acclaim, whose resonant, aspirational tones, are set to the experience of a young girl who dreams of walking the streets of Jerusalem’s Old City in a beautiful video directed by Daniel Finkelman, produced and screenplay by Chaya Greenberg, with co directing by Aharon Orian.

As she navigates through the Old City’s ancient streets and narrow alleyways she encounters the people from all walks of life and cultures; craftsmen, artists, and scholars, pause their routines to welcome and acknowledge her, each giving her a stone as a memento of her journey as if to communicate; this is not a dream. This is real. This is yours.

“Oh Jerusalem” is a performance that celebrates more than just the particular Jewish connection to ancient Israel but captures the modern-day reality of Israel’s dynamic multiculturalism and freedom of faith and worship. The distinct characters and personalities complement each other to portray the real-life inclusivity and mutual respect that makes Jerusalem the spiritual capital of the world it is today
